Marie says this is her favorite piece she's done to date. It involved a new technique in color blending that she tried, and also a lesson in making the background the most interesting subject. (Which she often does in her work without actually thinking about it.) This was out of Marie's comfort zone, but she's always up for the challenge of trying a new skill. This is precisely why she continues to develop and grow as an artist.
